Caleb Foster
Caleb Foster founded Squantum Gate Services in Quincy and manages it. He is the person customers deal with: he comes out to look over each gate, takes the measurements, checks the hardware and the power, and explains what he found before a start date is set.
He is good at working out why a gate misbehaves. Sagging leaves that drag on the pavement, latches that stop catching in cold weather, openers that stall halfway and hinges worn out of true are the problems he reads fastest, usually by watching the gate move once before he touches a tool.
Before a job is called finished, he cycles the gate repeatedly, checks the swing for level and clearance, and tests the latch and any safety stop. New crew members begin by watching him diagnose, then practice those same checks under his supervision before taking on repairs.
What Caleb Looks After for Customers
- The first look at the gate: how it moves, where it binds, and what that points to
- Measurements, and the check of the hardware and power, before new work is planned
- Explaining what he found, agreeing the work with you and setting the start date
- The final checks before a job is called finished: the gate cycled repeatedly, the swing checked for level and clearance, the latch and any safety stop tested
- Training new crew members, who watch him diagnose and then practice the same checks under his supervision
Before You Call Caleb
A few details make the first call more useful. This is what helps for the matters he hears about most:
| Gate matter | What to mention when you call | Page to read first |
|---|---|---|
| A sagging or dragging gate | Which leaf drops, whether it got worse over time, and whether the post looks straight | Gate Repair |
| A latch that will not catch | Whether it started with cold weather, and if the gate swings past or bounces off | Gate Repair |
| An opener that stalls or reverses | Where in its travel the gate stops, and whether it happens every time | Gate Openers |
| A new gate | The width of the opening, the slope of the drive, and the material you have in mind | Gate Installation |
| Keypad or intercom | Who needs to get in, and whether the gate already has an opener | Access Control |
| A tune-up | How often the gate is used, and anything that has changed lately | Gate Maintenance |
