Information we receive

The web form asks you for a name, a telephone number, an email address and a short note on the work, plus the job’s address or ZIP code if it has fields for them. Calls and emails give us whatever you choose to tell us or attach. Our web host also logs basic technical facts for each page request: the IP address, browser, page and time. It does this for security and so as to keep the site online.

The website chat

The chat is recorded, and an automated assistant may be the one replying. Each conversation stores everything you write, any contact details in it (a name, a telephone number or an email address) and what the job is, along with the page it started on, the address of the site that brought you here, a rough location taken from your internet address, what device you are on and its browser, and a random identifier kept in your browser to tell your chats on this website apart. To write the replies, the providers that operate the chat process what you send. It is all used to respond to you, to help you book the job and to improve the chat.

Cookies and visit counts

About cookies: none are used for advertising or for analytics. Two things can still happen in the background. The hosting company may set a single cookie the site strictly needs to keep it safe, and may also collect anonymous totals of how often pages are opened, counted without cookies.

What we use it for

The reason we collect anything is to help with what you asked for. We use it to get back to you, to plan and complete the work, and to follow up once it is done. On top of that, it goes into our business records, helps secure the website and lets us comply with applicable law.

Where information goes

Part of your information is handled by the providers behind this website, our email and the request system. Some goes to service partners who help with the reply or carry out the work. And some could be disclosed if applicable law requires it, or to protect the rights or safety of anyone, including ours.

Opting out of sale or sharing

California law, and the law of a number of other states, lets residents refuse, by opting out, the sale or sharing of their personal information. Every state applies its own definitions of those two words.

Opting out takes a single email or phone call. Email caleb.f@squantumdoorsgates.com or phone (857) 371-3783, tell us you are opting out, and give your name plus the phone or email address you used in your earlier contact with us. That is all we need to find your records. This is free, and you do not have to sign up for anything.

What happens next: a reply confirming we received it, then the opt-out itself, handled no later than applicable law requires. Any questions we ask are only to identify your records.

Requests from authorized agents are welcome when the agent holds a signed authorization from the person.

You can also opt out with a browser setting. Where required by law, a Global Privacy Control signal is handled as that browser’s request to opt out.

Opting out does not affect what you pay or how we work for you.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected and to have it deleted. Send an email to caleb.f@squantumdoorsgates.com or call us at (857) 371-3783 to make a request. Before acting, we may need to make sure that you are the person asking, and using any of these rights will not change how we treat you.

How long we keep it

We do not keep anything forever. As soon as your information is no longer needed for the request, the job, our records or a legal requirement, we delete it.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. All the same, there is no such thing as perfect security, online or off, so it cannot be guaranteed.

Children under 13

We do not direct this website to children under 13, nor do we knowingly collect a child’s information.

Changes to this page

If anything here changes, the new text replaces this one and shows a new date at the top of the page.
